A House full of movement
The Youth House of JUCONI is a very active place, full of movement and life. In each one of the activities within the House, our young people strengthen their skills and contribute to build their respective independent life plans, in order to have a life totally integrated to society.
Throughout the last trimester, the Youth House has worked in a community-based manner in the establishment of emergency prevention measures, such as: evacuation drills, obtaining contact data and managing risks. Young people have also worked on agreements on the use of video games, cell phones and tablets under the consideration that they are recreational activities that should not affect their routines, commissions, personal activities, or coexistence among the community.
Sports and leisure activities that promote coexistence and environments of respect and peace, such as: visits to parks, cinemas and museums are continuous. It highlights the participation of our young people in Carrera Chévez where they spent a very pleasant time among other youths and participants. At the same time, workshops on labor culture are developed, where topics on quality in work, productivity, costs, work stress and legal framework are addressed.
During December, a series of festivities were held to celebrate Christmas and the end year 2017. Our youths and educators participated with gift exchanges and enjoyed delicious traditional dishes.
We are pleased to realize the positive results in our youth; they are satisfied with their own advances and increasingly ready for independent living.
JUCONI International Conference: a space to strengthen knowledge and alliances
We are pleased to inform you that the 4th JUCONI International Conference was a success. In the Convention Center of Puebla city for three days, 25, 26 and 27 October, 54 speakers, 260 participants and 180 organizations met. Through 11 lectures and 34 workshops topics such as violence, trauma, peace culture, therapies, families, child development, among others, were analyzed and discussed.
The JUCONI Conference has turned into an important space to share knowledge, gather specialists, and professionalize the attention to vulnerable children, adolescents, and families to transform lives and strengthen our society.
We will meet again on October 29, 30 and 31, 2018 in the fifth edition of our great event.
A new year, a new goal
Thanks to your generous donations and the trust you have placed in our project, during the last trimester we were able to reach 90% of our goal in GlobalGiving. Due to the above and to the fact that our youth benefit every day with our shared efforts, we decided to increase the amount to be raised to $ 50,000 USD. We are confident that we will continue to be participants in the empowerment of our young people and that teamwork achieves great results that comes with great satisfaction.Thank you very much on behalf of our young beneficiaries and the entire JUCONI team! We wish you a happy and successful year 2018.
