We support 150 women in Kabare and Walungu, DRCongo, through eco-friendly farming and savings groups. Using organic methods like compost and mulch, they grow vegetables and invest profits in community funds. This boosts income, female leadership, and food security while preserving the environment.
In South Kivu, rural women face extreme poverty, limited income opportunities, and exclusion from financial systems. Unsustainable farming worsens food insecurity and environmental degradation. This project helps break the cycle by promoting women-led ecological agriculture and access to savings.
We train women in ecological farming techniques composting, organic pest control, and crop rotation while organizing them into savings groups. They sell vegetables locally and invest earnings into a fund offering small loans. This dual model increases income, food security, and access to capital.
This project builds sustainable livelihoods and promotes environmental stewardship. Educated, empowered women invest in their families' health, children's education, and local economies. Over time, this model strengthens gender equality and reduces poverty across rural South Kivu.
