Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you for your continued support in protecting and empowering girls affected by gender-based violence in Thailand.
While poverty continues to increase vulnerability, online exploitation is a growing concern, perpetrators increasingly target girls through social media, using job offers, romance or friendship to build trust before exploiting them.
Below is our work updates from June to August 2026
Protection
AAT carried out rescue operations with police, protecting 5 girls aged 13–16, three removed from a karaoke bar in Nakhon Ratchasima after weeks of data collection, and two victims in Roi Et and Khon Kaen rescued from an online trafficker in a CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) case.
This Quarter at a Glance:
77% of leads identified this quarter involved CSAM (child sexual abuse material).
Prevention
AAT trained 76 participants across two provinces.
In Ubon Ratchathani, 49 student leaders learned to recognize grooming tactics and online sexual risks, then put that knowledge into action — creating 7 storyboards on topics ranging from online exploitation to personal safety. AAT will turn the strongest ones into awareness videos to reach even more students.
In Chachoengsao, after having received AAT training, 27 community leaders are discussing in their own community to start an online-watch group and to organise training to equip children in their community with knowledge in online safety and sexual and reproductive health later this year. It's a powerful sign of lasting change: communities equipped not just to recognize the risks, but to protect their own children long after our work there is done.
Legal Support
This quarter, AAT's legal team supported survivors across20 active cases, delivered 105 instances of legal support, and filed 10 compensation claims. Among the results of this work: a perpetrator was sentenced to 50 years in prison, and 1,500,000 THB in compensation was awarded to one survivor's family
Successful Story
In 2025, AAT rescued two girls from trafficking in Kalasin Province. What followed was a year of relentless legal pursuit, resulting in 9 convictions and 325,000 THB in compensation. Both families are now investing in the girls' education, and one of the girls expressed a desire to start a nail salon.
Thank you for helping girls rebuild their strength and safety.
With gratitude,
The AAT Team
