Thank you for standing with us as we launch Empower Girls to Build Tech Futures. Ghana's technology sector still has a wide gender gap, driven not by a lack of talent, but by a lack of exposure, mentorship, and opportunity for girls and young women. AmaliTech has spent years running free training and mentorship programs that help women break into tech careers, and we've seen firsthand what's possible when that door is opened. One of our program graduates, Gifty, who is deaf, discovered her aptitude for digital skills through one of our earlier initiatives and is now building a career in tech. Her story is proof of what's possible, and it's exactly what inspired this project.
With this campaign, we're taking that same model and bringing it earlier, directly into girls' senior high schools. We're launching a Girls' AI and Tech Club that will give students, including girls with disabilities, free hands-on training, mentorship, and access to digital tools. The goal isn't just to teach coding basics; it's to turn curiosity into confidence, and confidence into a real, visible pathway toward a STEM career. As the first cohort of club members grows into student leaders and mentors themselves, we expect the impact to ripple outward, inspiring more girls in their schools and communities to see technology as a place they belong.
We're at the very beginning of this journey: the club framework is being finalized, and we're preparing to onboard participating schools over the coming months. We've already identified prospective club members and conducted an introductory AI training session to spark engagement and get girls excited about what's ahead. We have attached some pictures of this engagement. As soon as the clubs are up and running, we'll share our first on-the-ground updates, with photos and stories from the girls themselves. Your support now, during this launch phase, directly funds the essentials: computer lab maintenance, software subscriptions for student projects, and the regional workshop that will officially kick off the clubs in each school.
