On behalf of our membership, thank you for your support!

With the current immigration system in the United States, more than ever, we need to work together to ensure that we protect and unify families. Our team is currently working on advocating for our community and the crisis.

With your help, we have raised $ 1,505.00 and are utilizing the funds to empower families seeking asylum. We have been able to provide shelter, transportation, food assistance, and toiletries to families receiving Asylum acceptance in the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Our work is not complete, and we encourage you to share this page with your friends!

Dear friend and donor,

On behalf of LULAC, we want to deeply thank you for your support and commitment to reuniting families in the U.S.-Mexican border. With the current immigration system in the United States, more than ever, we need to work together and make sure that we protect and defend refugee rights.

We would also like to inform you that due to logistics and financial constraints we have updated our goal. Our original goal was to raise $5,000 dollars to support 50 refugee families to reunite them with their families in the United States by providing transportation, food assistance, shelter, and information about their rights. Five thousand dollars for 50 refugee families meant that each family will be covered with $100 dollars, which is not financially feasible. Instead, we have decreased the family number to 10 families with the same financial goal of $500 so each family could be covered with $500 dollars. This goal is more feasible due to transportation, shelter, and food expenses.

Although the number of families has been decreased, we hope to continue this work after we achieve our goal of reuniting 10 families.

We also would like to share that from August 12 to August 16, this project will be part of the LittlexLittle campaign in which any donation under a $100 dollar will be matched by 60 percent. Any donations or shares will greatly be appreciated as we hope to achieve our goal by September and reunite families by Christmas time.

Thank you very much for your help and support. We look forward to keeping you updated about this project.

Best,

Angelica Mercado
