With your support, we were thrilled to provide mobility treatment for 4 year old CoolKid Ayushman at our program with GetBak in India! Aysuhamn lives with dysmelia - a congenital disability characterized by a missing or shortened limb. Because of this disability, Aysuhamn suffered from limited mobility.
Ayushman was fitted with an orthoprosthesis which will allow him to live with indepednent mobility! An orthoprosthesis is a mobility aid with prosthetic and orthotic components. It's custom fit and designed to support Ayushman's shortened limb so he can walk comfortably.
With your continuous support, we'll provide mobillity treatment for Ayushman as he grows. As quickly as a kid outgrows a pair of shoes, our CoolKids outgrow their mobility aids. Your support provides continual care for our CoolKids — growing made easy.
Our CoolKids’ families cannot afford initial mobility treatment, let alone the 2+ follow-ups per year that their child will need as they grow. Your continued support provides continued mobility, peace of mind for our CoolKids and their families, and so much more than movement. That's what we call Growing Up ALTSO.
Mobility is the gateway to breaking the cycle of poverty. Mobility provides the fundamental tools of independence, access to education, community, and future employment.
