Vidya Poshak - Employment Readiness Updates

Dear Well Wishers

Greetings from Vidya Poshak Team. A total of 240 of Vidya Poshak students  and 173 of Non Vidya Poshak students were attended the training programs during the last quarter. All of the Vidya Poshak students of this camp  studying their Class 11 in Science and Commerce Streams and also Degree in Commerce,Arts,Science Streams Large majority of these students hail from rural backgrounds and majority studied in vernacular medium till Class 10.

As these students are primarily from rural backgrounds and started studying in English medium in college. The activities related to  Stage courage, Life skills,were given a large focus along with student – focused activities, Communication skills, Presentation skills, Motivation & Team Building etc For PUC Students.and English,Interview Skills ,Banking Preparation .Communication Skill,and all other skills to Degree students

Few Highlights of this training camp

  • The students to this camp batch mixed with others and adjusted quickly
  • The students prepared for the “Student Seminars” throughout the whole week and all did an amazing job presenting.  Details of seminars:
  • Presented on world leaders/personalities (were given brief biography)
  • 8-9  students in each group
  • Criteria they had to prepare for:
  • 1) To do seminar in English
  • 2) Use effective presentation skills
  • 3) Team work
  • 4) Manage time
  • 5) Confidence
  • All presentations were creative and in English
  • Students themselves were surprised that they did their first seminar in English
  • Students participated well in their leadership duties
  • Welcome and vote of thanks for resource persons
  • Food service
  • Cleaning
  • Stage arrangements
  • Time management

Unique Aspects

The Vidya Poshak residential training camps aim to foster life skills that are not fully available in the student’s life either on campus or in their community. 

A few objectives of the camps:

  • To Empower students to be more successful in personnel & professional life.
  • To provide valuable student centered practical training.
  • To Instill confidence through interactive life skills workshops.
  • To Encourage development of English communication.
  • To Promote the idea that each student can become a leader.
  • To bridge the gap between the formal education and demands of meaningful career..
  • To assist the students to set and achieve desired career goals..

The above said objectives depict the overall vision of the camps. Each camp has specific objectives decided prior to each camp based on the target group.
