The Safal MRM Foundation is delighted to share the achievements of the first half of 2024, celebrating the great milestones achieved thanks to the dedication and support of our donors and partners.
The Mabati Technical Training Institute (MTTI) has enrolled 1103 (542 male and 561 female) trainees in various courses since the beginning of this year. A total of 176 trainees were facilitated to undertake the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) accreditation examinations to qualify as Artisans. Supporting young trainees to acquire government accreditation is important because it increases opportunities for employment in the formal and informal sectors.
Linking our trainees with the industry for practical and industrial attachments is one of the main activities facilitated by the Office of Career Services (OCS). In the first half of the year, the OCS office linked 100 trainees with various companies in Mombasa for Industrial attachment while 24 secured decent jobs and are now supporting themselves and contributing to the development of their communities. The practical exposure is essential for understanding industry standards, work environments, and the application of classroom knowledge to actual tasks.
This year as well, we have introduced new courses such as the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) courses, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certificate in Accounting and Management Skills (CAMS), and Accounting Technician Diploma (ATD), diversifying our educational offerings.
We take pride in our growth, and we will continue to enhance learning, foster development, and improve the lives of vulnerable youth in Kilifi County by integrating life skills, mentorship and sports programs. We also like to inform you that we have introduced sports activities like Cricket by partnering with the Obuya Cricket Academy to promote sport as an alternative career path for our youth.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and for believing in our cause. Together, we are making a significant difference and creating a legacy of positive change.
