Jobs for 120 people with a disability in Pakistan

The month of June seemed not very prolific, as 6 persons with disabilities were employed in various areas of work. 3 months back we introduced a recruitment fee to companies that employ/use our services for recruitment; so far we have had a few companies agree to pay, but have not had their staff commence work. The NOWPDP team is concerned that companies are not willing to pay for the service, and therefore delaying the commencement of candidates. We will review the progress in the coming months.

Our target of companies to be met has also been increased.

What was achieved this month

• 2 hearing impaired candidates were inducted as mechanics at UNIVERSAL BRUSHWARE Pvt Ltd.
• 1 hearing impaired candidate has been hired by the Sindh Department of Special Education department as a web designer.
• 1 person is employed by Aquarium shop as a helper.
• 1 person was employed at GREEN FINGERS NURSERY

What are we proud of

• One of the leading banks in Karachi has showed interest in hiring of the PWDs.
• Our own organization NOWPDP, has hired a physically challenged candidate for one of our Transport project.
