Project Update - August 2011

August 2011 was a slow month for PWDs being hired due to Ramadan, where companies have shortened work hours and are generally less productive.

What was achieved this month?

7 PWDs were placed in employment: 3 at Gul Ahmed, 3 at Gul Bahao as telephone operators and 1 at National Foods

What are we proud of?

Evaluation of 6 people with intellectually challenged were held and their CVs sent to Gul Ahmed Textiles.

What companies did we meet?

NOWPDP staff met with 2 companies (OCS and Pharmatec) and both seemed keen on the idea of hiring PWDs.

Monthly Goals:

Number of companies met: 2 (planned: 2)
Number of applicant CVs sent to employers: 20 (planned: 20)
Number of applicants commencing employment: 7 (planned: 10)
Number of applicants selected but not commenced: 5
