Empathy Conflict Coaching for 15 Congress Members

Summary

Ayeish will coach 15 Congress members in tools to build agreements across the political divides. We will leverage our INNERe toolset (Intention + Needs + Regeneration) to deepen leaders' capacity to connect with the core human needs UNDERLYING "opponents'" positions and strategies, and facilitate generation of solutions that work for everyone. This works even amid emotional intensity, and when only one party participates. Based in older, wise traditions in mindfulness & empathy practices...

Challenge

Congress is increasingly challenged to build consensus and solutions to critical political issues, across the widening divides of the country. This means not only that national-level politics often leaves large portions of the country without their voices heard and needs addressed, but also that in times of crisis or critical decision-making, the U.S. is vulnerable if mechanisms of deep and effective communication across party lines cannot be developed. We aim to change this.

Solution

We will coach Congressmembers in empathy-based strategy to mediate powerful solutions to political stalemate and discord. Through networking & innovative outreach approaches like personalized briefings & role-play demos, we will build relationships with Congressmembers where (in small groups/one-on-one) they revise political strategy, relationships, & communication by identifying the core shared human needs UNDERLYING parties' positions/actions, & facilitating solutions that work for EVERYONE.

Long-Term Impact

Our initial target is 15 Congressmembers across the political spectrum. This will be the basis of a peer-support network and mediation mechanisms at the national level of politics, that facilitates deep and honest conversation about what really matters underneath positions & rhetoric, to arrive at solutions going forward. This will impact politics at every level, and political culture in the U.S., as well as the possibilities for peace abroad. Note: This will likely take more than $5,000!
