Emfasis Emergency Relief Programme aims to address the phenomenon of "Climate Homelessness" which has made its appearance in the context of the accelerating Climate Crisis.
Since 2017, the seasoned professionals & trained volunteers of Emfasis have implemented a significant number of emergency initiatives striving to relieve, support & empower populations affected by extreme weather conditions & natural disasters. Some of the key highlights of such missions are: the Mandra's floods (2017), the Mati's fires (2018), the N.Evia's fires (2021), the Arkalochori's earthquacke (2021), the Rhode's fires (2023) and the Thessaly's floods (2023).
The newly deviced "Emergency Relief Programme'' aims at the timely mobilization of the 2 Mobile Support Units & the Emfasis Social Service for immediate intervention in the field. Ultimately, our goal is to also work hand in hand with the local community and volunteer groups, to enhance their state of preparedness ahead of more extreme phenomena to come.
With the necessary equipment and trained resources, the organisation will be able to ensure efficient crisis management and equal access to aid and relief for all affected populations. Additionaly, Emfasis will not only help the local actors to build their capacity but also to facilitate the creation of a solidarity network which will be capable of taking action against the lurking consequences of the exacerbation of Climate Crisis and prevent appendant forms of homelessness.
