Summary

The Municipality of Tripoli urgently needs a specialized vacuum truck to clean and maintain the city's sewage network. Frequent blockages and overflowing sewage are damaging homes, threatening infrastructure, and creating serious public health risks in some of Tripoli's most vulnerable neighborhoods. This project will equip the municipality with the tools needed to respond quickly to emergencies, prevent further damage, and improve living conditions for thousands of residents.

Challenge

Aging and clogged sewage networks in Tripoli are causing wastewater to overflow into streets and seep beneath residential buildings. In neighborhoods such as Tabbaneh, Swayka, Qobbeh, and Jabal Mohsen, residents face recurring flooding, structural damage to homes, cracked foundations, and unsanitary conditions that increase the risk of disease. Without the proper equipment, the municipality cannot respond quickly enough to prevent these emergencies from escalating.

Solution

This project will provide the Municipality of Tripoli with a specialized vacuum truck for pumping, cleaning, and maintaining the city's sewage network. The vehicle will allow municipal teams to respond rapidly to blockages, remove accumulated wastewater and debris, reduce flooding during heavy rains, and carry out routine preventive maintenance. This investment will strengthen the municipality's ability to protect homes, public infrastructure, and the health of local communities.

Long-Term Impact

The project will significantly improve public health, reduce emergency sewage overflows, and help protect homes and infrastructure from long-term damage. Regular maintenance of the sewage network will lower repair costs, improve sanitation, reduce environmental pollution, and make neighborhoods safer and more resilient. By strengthening municipal capacity, the project provides a sustainable solution that will benefit tens of thousands of residents for years to come.
