The protracted conflict in different parts of Nigeria continues to devastate the lives of millions of Nigerians resulting in a serious humanitarian crisis across the country. In addition, many communities in Nigeria are prone to flood and other natural disasters which affects an average of 4 million Nigerians each year. This project hopes provide emergency humanitarian support to cushion any hardship faced by the victims to restore their human dignity and livelihood.
According to UNOHA, an estimated 8.1 million Nigerians are in acute need of humanitarian and protection assistant. The protracted conflict in different parts of Nigeria continues to devastate the lives of millions of Nigerians resulting in a serious humanitarian crisis across the country. In addition, many communities in Nigeria are prone to flood and other natural disasters which affects an average of 4 million Nigerians each year with the majority of the victims being women and children.
The 'emergency response project' is an intervention recently activated to support families and communities to cope with the impact of the hardship. This project will focus on immediate, intermediate and long term needs identified across the affected communities. Some of the interventions will include food and water supply, temporary shelter, essential medicines and other basic needs. In the long-run, the project will support rebuilding and resettlement plans to restore the livelihood of families
This project targets to resettle 10,000 internally displaced persons and victims affected by community conflicts, disaster etc. In the long-run, the project will support rebuilding and resettlement plans to restore the livelihood of families.
