More than two and a half years have now passed since the crisis began in Gaza. However, despite the peace agreement, the famine continues and unrestricted access for humanitarian aid is more necessary than ever: thousands of displaced people have lost their homes, food reserves are running low, and more than a million children are suffering the consequences of hunger.
Despite the difficulties, Médicos del Mundo remains in Gaza, providing urgent medical and mental health care to the affected populations, primarily children. We have distributed over 3,000 food and hygiene kits to more than 20,000 people and have carried out over 220,000 primary care consultations and more than 25,000 mental health consultations.
Maintaining medical care and supplying essential medicines is our top priority. Famine should be totally eradicated in todays world.
