Strengthening Support: Disaster Management and Humanitarian Response" The Fund" project, implemented by the (SORD,) is an effective strategy for providing robust and rapid support in disaster management and humanitarian response in affected areas of Yemen. The project aims to enable the organization to adapttomultiplechallengesandcontributeimmediatelytosupportingvariousgroups with flexibility and efficiency.

The project aims to provide rapid interventions and urgent humanitarian assistance to families displaced by conflict or natural disasters in Yemen, focusing on resilience, accessibility, and positive adaptation. It will provide food supplies, shelter, and psychosocial support, in addition to interventions tailored to the specific needs of fundraisingsystemtosupportdisasteraffectedfamilies.Theprojectalsoestablishesa managementandhumanitarianresponseduringconflictsandemergenciesinYemen. Furthermore, it aims to bolster the organization's existing stockpiles for emergency interventions in conflict and natural disaster zones in Yemen,both before and during such events, to provide urgent, life-saving assistance to displaced families in areas affected by natural disasters and armed conflict.

The UN is appealing for US$4.3 billion to reach 17.3 most vulnerable and needy people. The response approach will be organized around three strategic objectives: strengthening life-saving activities, building resilience and contributing to sustainable solutions, and providing protection. The plan recognizes the importance of working closely with development partners to prevent a wider collapseofbasicservices.Thehumanitarian,development,andpeacebuildingsectors will engage in coordinated work under the strategic umbrella of the recently established YemenPartners Group anditsoperationalstructure, theYemen Partners proposalalignswiththeobjectivesoftheHumanitarianTechnicalTeam.Yourproject Response Plan and can contribute to strengthening families’ resilience.

 General objective:

The overall objective of the Fund's support system project for disaster management

and humanitarian response in Yemen is as follows:

The project aims to provide emergency relief in exceptional circumstances such as wars and disasters, alleviating suffering caused by conflicts, natural disasters, and economic collapse in Yemen. This will be achieved through the provision of rapid, effective, and targeted humanitarian assistance to displaced families. This includes providing food, water, shelter, healthcare, psychosocial support, and assistance in rebuilding livelihoods and strengthening resilience.

1. Providing rapid and effective humanitarian assistance to families affected by disasters and wars in Yemen, including food, water, shelter, medical care and psychosocial support.
2. Reducing food insecurity and malnutrition: The project will provide food baskets, water purification tablets and other essential supplies to affected households to help them meet their immediate needs and prevent malnutrition.
3. Improving access to shelter and sanitation: The project will distribute emergency shelterkitsandconstructtemporaryhousingunitsforfamilieswhohavelosttheir homes. Sanitation facilities in affected areas will also be improved to prevent the spread of disease.
4. Improving access to healthcare: The project will establish and support mobile clinics and healthcare facilities in affected areas. Medical care, including psychological counseling and support, will be provided to those in need.
5. Increasingeducationalopportunitiesforchildrenaffectedbythecrisis:Theproject will implement educational programs and provide learning materials to help children continuetheir education. Itwill also address the psychological and social impacts of the crisis through psychosocial support programs.
6. Enhancing economic empowerment among affected families: The project will provide livelihood opportunities, vocational training and microfinance loans to help families become self-sufficient and rebuild their lives.
7. Strengthening social cohesion among affected communities: The project will support civil society organizations, promote social interaction, and foster a sense ofsharedresponsibilityandsupporttostrengthensocialcohesionamongaffected communities.
8. Buildingresilienceamongaffectedcommunities:Theprojectwilltraincommunity membersondisasterpreparednessandresponsemeasurestobuildresilienceand reduce exposure to future disasters.

Achievements:

As a result of the recent missile attacks on Yemen due to the ongoing war, as well as the floods and torrential rains that swept through the country during August and September, these events have resulted in significant human and material losses in many areas of Yemen. Many people have died, numerous homes have been completely or partially destroyed, and hundreds of families have been displaced from various regions. Reports and field surveys indicate that thousands of families were affected, both materially and in terms of human lives, between June and September and that the risk of gender-based violence and violations has increased, 2021 particularly among women and children. Yemen is experiencing a major crisis and disaster that the relevant authorities are failing to address. Therefore, one of the project's objectives is to provide an urgent and emergency response to deliver humanitarian aid and emergency relief. (SORD) implemented its activities in accordance with the ongoing events in the targeted areas, and thanks to.

its presence in these areas, it was able to quickly provide relief and assistance to families affected by the disasters (floods and war), including food and shelter, as follows:

Food aid was provided to 25 war-affected families who were forced to leave their destroyed and uninhabitable homes. The aid included:

Twenty-six displaced families benefited from the provision of emergency food and shelter kits, including food items, mattresses, blankets, and kitchen utensils. These kits benefited 182 individuals, including 45 men, 84 women, and 53 children.

Assistance was provided to 18 elderly people with diabetes and high blood pressure through diabetes and high blood pressure treatments.

Twenty-two pregnant and breastfeeding women underwent medical examinations and received the necessary treatments and nutritional supplements under the supervision of doctors and nutritionists.

Eleven children, aged between nine and fifteen, were referred to psychologists and social workers for psychological support after suffering psychological trauma as a near their homes result of air raids.

Therefore, the number of beneficiaries of urgent and emergency aid is as follows: 182 individuals benefited from food and shelter assistance.
