Emergency Support for Ukrainian Refugees

With no end to the Russian attacks on Ukraine in sight, hospitals in Ukraine suffer from shortage of medical equipment. Peace Winds, with financial support from the Japanese government, provided a total of 51 medical equipment and generators to 27 hospitals in 6 oblasts. This project has been carried out in coordination with 100%LIFE, Ukraine’s largest edical NGO and Ukrainian Ministry of Health.

We have delivered ultrasound machines, defibrillators, syringe pumps, and patient monitors. In order to prevent electricity black out, we have provided some generators, too. 

The equipment and generators were delivered to hospitals in 6 war affected oblasts: Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy.

The procurement and logistics of the equipment were done in cooperation with Ukraine’s largest patient organization 100%LFE. Mr. Dmytro Sherembey, the head of 100LIFE said, “We have been supplying medicines to Ukrainian hospitals for a year and a half with the support of the Japanese organization PW. We greatly appreciate that the scope and areas of Japan’s support for the medical system in Ukraine are expanding. The project supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan is an unconditional step of solidarity with Ukrainian patients, for which we are sincerely grateful,”

With this project, we have been able to assist a part of the reconstruction effort of Ukraine’s medical service. However, the hardship is not over and we have only provided the equipment to a small fraction of the entire Ukrainian medical service.
