Protecting Mothers and Newborns Through Essential Healthcare
During this reporting period, the project could not secure any online donations. Despite this financial constraint, Good Thinkers Organization (GTO-Pakistan) remained committed to protecting the health of vulnerable mothers and children in rural communities.
Through collaboration with Al-Khair Hospital Kasur and the generous support of a local donor who provided medicines, GTO-Pakistan organized a free Mother and Child Health Camp on a self-help basis. The camp provided free medical consultations, health guidance and essential medicines to underserved families who otherwise face serious financial and practical barriers to healthcare.
A total of 89 patients benefited from the camp, including 78 women and 11 children. Women received medical assessment and advice regarding maternal, reproductive and general health concerns, while children were examined and provided with appropriate treatment and medicines.
This initiative demonstrates the meaningful impact that local collaboration can achieve, even in the absence of formal project funding. However, the need for accessible maternal, newborn and child healthcare remains significant. With donor support, GTO-Pakistan hopes to organize regular health camps, provide essential medicines and reach more vulnerable mothers, newborns and children across rural Kasur.
