More than 70 families rendered homeless in a major fire mishap in a small village of Boudh district recently. Baring three houses, the fire has engulfed the entire village. Over 150 rooms were gutted and all belongings were reduced to ashes. In this emergency operation, we are planning to support the victims with dry food, shelter, drinking water and education materials for children. In long term, the families will be assisted to build their house and restore livelihoods to maintain the family.
The fire, which is said to be broke out from nearest forest at about 01.30 PM, engulfed the houses within few minutes and the victims could not save any thing except the clothes they had wearing. No household property belonging to anyone could be saved. People lost their food grain, kitchen utensils and cloths. Children lost their textbook and all study materials. People are taking shelter under the tree with 48-degree heat wave. Children and older are the worst affected.

The immediate major requirements are food, drinking water and equipment for temporary shelter. One community volunteers will be assisted to go to the government regularly for mobilizing support.
The project will ensure that 250 fire victims in the village have ensured various survival needs and assisted to rebuild the life and livelihood with dignity.
