Dear Donor,
we're happy to share some good news with you! Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to collect over €40,000 for the survivors of the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria and could successfully implement our emergency aid.
In the last few weeks we have been in constant contact with local organizations in order to use your donations with the greatest possible impact. In the first days and weeks after the earthquake, there was a lack of everything: food, blankets, hygiene items and medical aid. In the meantime, the need for essential relief supplies has been largely covered. People now need medium- and long-term shelter, access to sanitation and clean water. That’s why the donations go to two organizations that are building apartments for survivors of the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.
Container homes in Türkiye
Half of the donations go to INFAK, a German association that has been providing support in the affected regions of Türkiye since the earthquake. Since March, the organisation has been working on building an emergency housing estate with 45 container apartments. Thanks to your donations, 4 of these apartments have already been financed and will be ready for occupancy shortly.
Apartments in northern Syria
The other half of the donations goes to Molham, a Syrian NGO that has been working to secure basic needs such as food, shelter and medicine for needy Syrians since 2012. The organization will start building 2,000 homes for earthquake survivors in June, 4 of which have already been funded by your donations.
A big thank you to each and every one of you for your support and donations!
We would be very grateful if you would continue to stay in touch with us in the future and tell your friends and colleagues about the work of our association.
All the best,
Celine
