On the morning of February 6, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck the border region of Turkey and Syria, followed the same day by another 7.5 magnitude earthquake. Even if we are not normally active in the region, our network with Visions for Children e.V. gives us the opportunity to implement humanitarian emergency aid. More than 10,000 people have already died, another 49,000 are injured and local help is urgently needed. Please support us and donate now for the survivors.
The earthquake hit the areas hard and the search for survivors is still ongoing. In the affected region, there are millions of refugees from Syria who were already living in catastrophic conditions before the earthquake. In addition, thousands of buildings collapsed and important infrastructure, such as hospitals, was destroyed. In addition to medical help, relief supplies such as food or blankets are also needed.
With our emergency aid, we want to help provide the earthquake victims with the most basic necessities. We are currently in constant contact with local organizations about what they need in order to use your donations as quickly as possible with the greatest possible impact. Of course we will keep you up to date on how exactly the donations can be used on site.
The earthquake regions in Turkey and Syria must be helped as quickly as possible to support the injured as well as people that are now affected by homelessness. Together with other organizations, people should be able to overcome this time as quickly as possible and one day return to their normal everyday lives. Time is running out - let's stand together to help the survivors!
