Afghanistan needs a balanced economy and that is why we support the private hospital established Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, Founder of the NGO the Afghan Institute of Learning. Private development is crucial to establishing a self-supporting Afghanistan. Dr. Yacoobi believes Afghans want to be responsible for themselves and are not looking for handouts. The people who come to the hospital all pay something, those who can, pay more and subsidize the needy but sometimes there is a funding gap and that is why we need your support to help pay for surgeries for the poor.
In the last 3 months there have been 2,523 treatments at the hospital including, 40 operations. The hospital treats all manner of medical issues from injuries, diseases and pregnancy to prevention and health education.
Thank you for your interest in Afghanistan and your support for our projects. We have included Creating Hope International’s 2014 newsletter and hope you will read through it.
