Help a Family Face Hunger With Dignity

By Jawanghe Joseph | Project Leader

For a parent struggling to feed their children, hunger can bring fear, stress and uncertainty. Families facing food insecurity need more than sympathy—they need practical support that protects their dignity and gives them hope.

Karamoja continues to face a serious food-security crisis. The latest 2026 IPC assessment reports that approximately 473,000 people are experiencing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity, representing about 32% of the analysed population.

Young children are among those facing the greatest risks. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to experience acute malnutrition, including around 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition during the March 2026–February 2027 period.

Good Cause Foundation Uganda is appealing through GlobalGiving for support to help vulnerable families meet immediate food needs.

Your donation can help provide food packages to households facing hunger and give parents an opportunity to provide meals for their children during difficult periods.

But our goal extends beyond emergency relief. We also want to support families with seeds, agricultural knowledge, farming skills and appropriate resources so they can strengthen household food production and become more resilient.

Objectives:

  • Provide emergency food assistance to vulnerable families.
  • Support children and households affected by hunger.
  • Reach vulnerable communities in Karamoja.
  • Provide seeds and agricultural resources where appropriate.
  • Strengthen practical farming and food-production skills.
  • Promote sustainable household food security.
  • Support families toward greater resilience and self-reliance.
  • Mobilize donors and partners to reach more households.

Your donation can help a parent put food on the table today while creating hope for greater food security tomorrow.

Please donate, share this campaign, or partner with Good Cause Foundation Uganda to help families facing hunger.
