Karamoja's hunger crisis requires both immediate action and long-term commitment.
The latest 2026 IPC assessment reports that 473,000 people—approximately 32% of the analysed population—are experiencing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity.
The nutrition situation is equally concerning. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to experience acute malnutrition, including around 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition during the March 2026–February 2027 period.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda believes that responding to this crisis requires more than emergency food distribution. Families need opportunities to rebuild their food-production capacity and become more resilient.
Through donor support, we want to help provide food packages to families facing immediate hunger while supporting access to seeds, agricultural knowledge, farming skills and appropriate productive resources.
This approach seeks to address two important questions:
How can we help families survive today? And how can we help them become more food secure tomorrow?
Objectives:
We invite you to become part of the solution.
Donate through GlobalGiving, share this campaign with your network, or partner with Good Cause Foundation Uganda.
Together, we can help families move from hunger and uncertainty toward food, resilience and hope.
