Karamoja needs more than sympathy. It needs urgent action, compassion and sustained support.
The latest IPC assessment shows that 473,000 people in Karamoja are experiencing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity, with approximately 41,000 people already in Emergency conditions.
The crisis is affecting communities across the region, with particularly severe conditions reported in Kaabong, Kotido, Karenga, Moroto and Nabilatuk.
Children are especially vulnerable. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to face acute malnutrition, including approximately 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda is appealing to the global GlobalGiving community to stand with vulnerable families during this difficult period.
We want to support emergency food assistance while also helping communities strengthen their resilience through agriculture, seeds, farming skills, livelihood support and other appropriate interventions.
Objectives:
Please don't look away from Karamoja.
Your donation can help a family receive food when they need it most. Your partnership can help us reach more communities. Your share can introduce this crisis to someone who can help.
Together, we can turn compassion into action and hunger into hope.
