A child should never have to grow up wondering where their next meal will come from. Yet across Karamoja, food insecurity is putting enormous pressure on families and exposing children to the devastating consequences of hunger and malnutrition.
The latest 2026 IPC assessment reports that 473,000 people in Karamoja are facing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity, representing about 32% of the analysed population.
Even more concerning is the nutritional impact on children. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to face acute malnutrition, including around 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition during the March 2026–February 2027 period.
These are not simply numbers. They represent children whose growth, health, learning and future opportunities can be affected when they do not receive adequate food and nutrition.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda is appealing for support to help vulnerable families and children affected by the crisis. We want to contribute to emergency food assistance while supporting longer-term measures that strengthen household resilience.
Our work seeks to connect immediate hunger relief with sustainable food-security solutions. Families need food today, but they also need opportunities to produce food tomorrow.
With donor support, we can help provide food packages while also supporting seeds, agricultural knowledge, farming skills and appropriate resources for vulnerable households.
Objectives:
A donation today can help protect a child from hunger and give a family hope that tomorrow can be better.
Please stand with Karamoja. Donate what you can, share this campaign, or connect us with an organization that can help us reach more families.
