-We have currently delivered more than 35,000 kits- The measures taken to prevent the contagion of COVID-19 have differential consequences for the inhabitants of informal settlements: the cancellation of classes has made children and adolescents lose school meals, which are a fundamental part of their diet, on the other hand. The impossibility of going out to work, the high rate of informal employment and unemployment, add to these consequences that put the nutrition of entire families at risk.
Particularly vulnerable populations in the world are those most at risk of contagion from COVID-19 given their limited access to aqueduct and sewerage services to guarantee hand hygiene, for example, or to additional elements such as antibacterial; and at the same time, they are those that have the greatest difficulty in accessing health services and therefore in treating the virus.
Mitigate the shortage of food for families in informal settlements during the emergency due to the COVID-19 quarantine through the donation of food kits coordinated with the leaders of the communities
Reduce the need for the displacement of vulnerable people from informal settlements, which may even reduce the risk of them catching COVID-19 while at the same time meeting their basic food needs, working hand in hand with leaders This also allows to preserve the community organization during the emergency
