In May 2025, severe floods struck multiple communities across the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), displacing families, submerging homes, and cutting off access to basic services. Thousands lost everything. Now, with winter approaching, they face a life-threatening situation without shelter, warmth, or resources. This project by CADENA delivers emergency aid-including hygiene kits, warm clothing, mattresses, and medical care-to help families regain safety, dignity, and hope.
In May 2025, severe floods devastated low-income communities across AMBA. Families lost their homes, mattresses, clothes, and essential tools. Many are now living in shelters or damaged homes, exposed to cold, illness, and deep uncertainty. With winter approaching and no resources to recover, they face a life-threatening situation that is worsening by the day.
CADENA will deliver emergency relief-mattresses, warm clothing, hygiene kits, and essential supplies-to families who lost everything. Alongside this aid, we will offer first aid and emergency preparedness training to help communities organize, respond, and protect one another, building resilience in the face of future crises.
By combining urgent aid with community training, this project not only supports immediate recovery but empowers vulnerable families to face future disasters with greater confidence and coordination. It strengthens local networks, promotes dignity, and builds a foundation for long-term resilience in the most affected areas of AMBA.
