The current Ebola outbreak continues to place vulnerable rural communities at heightened risk. Limited healthcare resources, long travel distances to health facilities, and misinformation create significant challenges for effective disease control.
The Girl Child Foundation Uganda has intensified community engagement efforts to ensure families receive accurate and timely information about Ebola prevention. Through awareness campaigns and local outreach activities, we are helping communities understand how to protect themselves and seek appropriate care.
Our teams have worked closely with local leaders to promote preventive practices and encourage early reporting of suspected cases. Increased awareness is contributing to improved community preparedness and faster response to potential infections.
Healthcare workers remain on the front lines of this emergency yet continue to face shortages of protective equipment. Strengthening community prevention efforts helps reduce pressure on health facilities and supports overall outbreak control.
The generosity of donors has enabled us to continue delivering essential awareness messages and supporting community-based prevention strategies. Together, we are helping build resilience and reduce the impact of Ebola on vulnerable populations.
We remain committed to expanding these efforts and appreciate the continued partnership of all supporters who make this work possible.
