Over the past four months, through the implementation of the "Full Backpack During the War" project, we have made a significant contribution to providing children from vulnerable social groups with the essentials they need for education and creative development.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Fund's team and the generosity of compassionate donors, 757 children received backpacks filled with everything necessary to support their learning and creativity.
The project's reach extended across Kyiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions, as well as Kamianets-Podilskyi.
Our beneficiaries included children with special needs, those living in family-type orphanages, internally displaced children, and families who have lost their homes due to the war.
The backpacks, tailored to the requests of institutions, were filled with essential school supplies such as sketchbooks, notebooks, pencils, paints, markers, pens, and other stationery needed to ensure an uninterrupted learning process.
Additionally, the children received special emergency backpacks designed to support them in extreme situations. These included mini power banks, flashlights, sanitizers, reflective items, lunch boxes, mini sleeping mats, and other practical items that could prove invaluable during evacuations or air raid alarms, making it easier for them to stay in shelters.
Children who have lost their homes, routines, or even loved ones are enduring an incredibly difficult time that demands our collective empathy and support. The war has rendered them even more vulnerable — many have been forced to relocate with their institutions, evacuating from dangerous areas and leaving behind familiar surroundings. These traumatic experiences are compounded by limited access to quality education, socialization, and basic resources for development.
Among the institutions that received aid were both orphanages and educational-rehabilitation centers, including “Living Pearl,” the Kyiv City Center for Social Support of Children and Families (Vorzel), the Vinnytsia Regional Center "Hnizdechko," the Kamianets-Podilskyi Special School, the Poltava Regional Council's "Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children," and many others.
The "Blagomay" Fund team personally visited the family-type orphanage of the Peresenchuk family to deliver aid and meet the children. This visit left a lasting impression. The children welcomed us with bright smiles and sparkling eyes — they eagerly explored the contents of their backpacks, shared their dreams and aspirations. For them, this was not just material assistance but a vital reminder that they are remembered, cared for, and supported.
In their eyes, we saw gratitude and hope — the kind of hope that drives us to continue our mission. Every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a safe and dignified childhood with the opportunities needed for sustainable growth. Charity Fund Blagomay has been committed to realizing these rights for years.
Join the "Full Backpack During the War" project by choosing the most convenient way to contribute.
Together, we can change the future of these children for the better!
