INSAN has set up an emergency plan to assist the displaced families who are residing in centers or schools. The plan consists of assisting at least 1250 people with Food and non-food items (NFI) ; in addition to providing psycho-social support (PSS) activities for the children in these centers to lessen the impact of the trauma that they are experiencing. Therefore, INSAN is mobilizing it's volunteers and supporters in order to reach these goals.
Hostilities in Lebanon escalated massively with over 1,200 Israeli airstrikes widely conducted across Lebanon on 23 September 2024. Heavy bombardment hit urban centers such as Beirut Southern Suburbs, Tyr, and Nabatiyeh and the Bekaa Valley, causing mass displacement, traffic congestion and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. Until now there are 1 million and 200 thousand internally displaced with 160,000 residing in schools and other centers.
This project is an emergency response to assist the displaced to survive by providing them with hot meals and hygiene and baby kits, in addition to providing psycho-social activities to the children to lessen the impact of war and trauma that they are experiencing.
It will help the dispaced to overcome these difficult times and be able to continue their normal lives once the war is over.
