Urgent Appeal: On Monday 8th July Cape Town was hit by a severe storm and this is the first to hit us out of a series of upcoming cold fronts. The first storm struck our school as we prepared to open for the new term, causing extensive flooding and landslides and forcing immediate closure. With more storms expected, including a larger one this Thursday 11th July we need your support to get through this difficult time. We are currently on a Level 8 Weather warning issued by SA Weather Services.
A school in an underprivileged township in South Africa is a crucial hub for supporting communities in combating poverty. Each day a child misses school, it affects their future and potential. Unfortunately, Cape Town is facing a series of storms, leading to our school being flooded and classrooms destroyed by mud. The cleanup ahead is costly, and we also need to ensure we are able to provide immediate solutions to re-open school and help our children get back to learning.
By providing a donation gift to this project, we can support all our students during this dangerous weather period. Your contributions will be used swiftly to create temporary solutions, enabling us to reopen the school promptly. Additionally, your donations will aid in pumping out the school, replacing flood-damaged furniture and flooring, fixing flooded electrical systems, and replacing storm-damaged roofing.
This disaster management program plays a crucial role in getting a community back up and running and providing quality education to a community that is striving to overcome poverty. Despite the current challenges posed by the weather storm, the impact is critical in ensuring the community's survival. Once back on track, the program will resume its mission of equipping individuals with the necessary tools to thrive.
