Challenge

Bandits have driven many of the Nigerian farmers away from their farms and infact killed some of them .Because of fear, most farmers in rural areas have abandoned farming plus the rural youths drifted to urban centers to look for jobs and livelihoods. The apathy in farming is also due to high cost of farming inputs like transportation, fertilizer ,general hardship and and lack of importation of essential food commodities to supplement dwindling local production .

Solution

This project is a youth-driven and call for Return to the farms to produce more food. Youth bring innovation which boost food security and livelihoods of communities. EARN will train 40 youths and equip them to farm in a modern way.The funds from supporters/donors will be used for the project to empower them to acquire new skills for self-reiance .

Long-Term Impact

The long-term impact of pushing the young and youthful /energetic back to the farms will have multiplier effects on youths involvement in farming and food production. The project will increase food production, create economic opportunities ,promote food self-sufficiency and build longterm resilience . This project will eventually eliminate hunger and starvation in the land .
