What is happening in Galgal and Someone to Run with Now?
Main development during the past 3 months:
This center currently operates five days a week, out of which one day the center is opened only for girls and young women.
During the past 3 months, the "Someone to Run With" center assisted 173 young men and women, 25 of them are newcomers – homeless young people that were exposed to the center for the first time and began attending it on a regular basis.
In the past quarter we have also held an Arts workshop, renovated the center and added room for 2nd hand clothing donated for the youth attending the center.
We gave some of our girls a farewell party and celebrated their personal achievement enlisting the IDF .
As part of our advocating and efforts to change public policy in favor of homeless young people, we took part in a meeting of Knesset's subcommittee for the welfare of homeless youth, along with some of the youngsters from the center who represented their friends living on the streets, presented their view in the meeting, and contributed their share of raising the issue to public agenda and increase awareness.
