The Galgal Day Care Centers in Jerusalem and Someone to Run With in Tel Aviv give support and assistance for homeless and at-risk youth aged 18-26 with the aim of providing a basic humanitarian solution - food, hot shower, clothing and medical services.
At-risk youth are attracted from the periphery to the main cities and fall prey to negative street culture influence and end up homeless. Israel has 300,000 youth at-risk.
Immediate front-line assistance for homeless and in distress young people. By attending to basic needs there is an opportunity to engage them in an attempt to plan for alternatives to living on the streets. Many of Israel's 300,000 at-risk youth are attracted to the country's main cities and find themselves on the streets with no viable alternative. This project will provide shelter, food and health facilities.
After attending to basic needs, the aim is to get the youngster in to a long-term program leading to rehabilitation and a home away from the street culture.
