Galgal Day Care Centers & Someone to Run With

Resent events and developments in Galgal& Someone To Run With

• During the last quarter of the year, Jerusalem experienced a wave of terrorism. The atmosphere was turbulent and many of our youth were worried about getting hurt. Part of the time, we assisted with emergency help and we increased the hours of two female staff members. We broadened our activities as much as possible during this period to help them cope with the effects of the security situation (panic attacks, emotional distress, etc.).

• The beginning of this year was very cold and stormy in Jerusalem. Teams of staff and volunteers took to the streets on snowy days to locate youth and bring them to a safe and warm place.

• This year we have broadened our services to young adults by providing “normative” activities such as classes, excursions to cultural events, trips and more. These activities have opened new areas of interest and exciting first- time experiences for the young adults. In addition, the activities bring in to our dialogue with the youth new and diverse topics.
