Elderly Widows Raising Orphans Need Food

Imagine you’re 86 years old and the only living relative to several young great grandchildren…and they live with you.

Or you’re a disabled widower in your 70’s and you are responsible to taking care of your disabled son, or several grandchildren.

Any of those situations would put you in a tough position trying to provide enough food and all the basic needs that are required.  You’re too old to find work, or too sick to go out and raise money.

The need is the same…whether you’re a widow or a widower, the circumstances can be devastating just trying to survive…BUT Instead…YOU have intervened with your support.

The support you gave to help these families was life-changing and often life-saving! Food was brought into the home and at times shoes and clothes were too.

Take Grandmother Ella.  When we found her, she was sitting outside her home asking everyone walking past her for something to eat for her family. They hadn’t eaten in two days and there was no food in the house.

Thanks to your great support, a food package, fit for her family size, was brought into her home.

Grandfather John is raising his two grandchildren.  Shortly after his wife passed, he took a fall and broke several bones.  His age made it difficult to provide for anyone other than himself, but now he had the responsibility of his grandkids while dealing with his new injuries.

Whatever the circumstances, YOU came through with support and blessed families with food deliveries and filled their homes with food.
