According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, it is estimated that there are about 600,000 disabled seniors over the age of 65, and the number is likely to double in 10 years, with the disability rate reaching 16%. Seeing the need for services for the elderly, Eden established "Evergreen Home" in 1997 with the belief of "Wherever there is a need, there is always an answer from Eden" and started to provide home care services to implement the spirit of aging locally.
Many elderly in remote areas affected by inconvenient transportation have difficulty using any communications software to connect to outside. Under the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Eden service centers providing services early on were forced to be suspended. Many elderly were affected by this situation physically and mentally. They began to eat irregularly, work and rest abnormally, and their activity amounts had dropped down, which caused them to have functional degradation.
For the elderly in remote areas, Eden provides Community Care Centers, Home Care Services, Day Care Centers, and Nutritious Meal Provision. These services may be adjusted and supplemented according to the specific needs and conditions of different remote areas. Eden Social Welfare Foundation is committed to providing comprehensive services to improve the quality of life of the elderly in remote villages and to promote their well-being and health.
Eden Social Welfare Foundation has set up Care Centers, Day Care Centers, and Dementia Centers, so that elders do not have to travel far from their homes to have the company of their peers and to engage in activities. Besides, in the area of mobility, we also have provided comprehensive support for the elderly in terms of respite, meal delivery, transportation, maintenance and cleaning of assistive devices, etc., to enable them to have a dignified and happy life in their twilight years.
