This project aims to complete the construction of a new community health center in the rural Honduran village of El Rodeito. The goal is to develop necessary infrastructure for healthcare services, including Primary Care, Maternal Child Services, and Dental care, provided free of charge to the community. Cape Cares has been bringing medical and dental brigades to this region for over 25 years, yet we are in desperate need of clinic building infrastructure in order to properly serve this area.
The rural village of El Rodeito in south central Honduras faces significant healthcare challenges. With over 2,100 villagers living in this remote and impoverished area, access to healthcare services is limited. Only two health centers exist, staffed by a single nurse who cannot address complex conditions. Cape Cares aims to deploy volunteer medical and dental providers to offer primary care services, but lacks the necessary local infrastructure for efficient healthcare delivery.
The acute healthcare needs in the region have been identified by not-for-profit groups. Mayor Potencial has started constructing a new community health center large enough for a healthcare brigade to serve hundreds of patients daily. While their progress has been impressive, additional capital investment is needed to complete the project. Our collaborative goal is to raise the necessary funds for construction, ensuring continued volunteer health and dental care services in this remote region.
The new community health center in El Rodeito will have an immediate positive impact on the health of thousands of patients. Cape Cares provides preventive services, enhancing long-term health benefits. The center will also trial specialized healthcare services and accommodate community needs. Collaborative projects like Centro de Salud El Rodeito improve access to healthcare in rural, impoverished Honduran communities.
