El Cauce|Camphill Escobar is Argentina's first inclusive community initiative, an integrated residential village where adults with IDD can live with supported independence and dignity. Help us build the LIFE-SHARING RESIDENCE where our first group of friends will live, work and celebrate life together. We're already halfway there! ALL of the structural building materials have been donated, nearly HALF of the TOTAL $700.000 budget. Now we need your help to convert these bricks into a HOME!
Over 1 million adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Argentina have no viable vision of an independent future. Activity centers, residential facilities and sheltered workshops do not respond holistically to the needs of this population. El Cauce | Camphill offers a new paradigm, an active community that ENABLES independence and INSPIRES growth. Where each individual participates, cares for the land and for their neighbor, and lives with dignity and purpose.
This project builds a productive residential community that employs biodynamic farming techniques to both nourish the earth AND provide a rhythmic, productive context that is therapeutic by nature. El Cauce offers adults with disabilities the chance to pursue their own life project, live with dignity and purpose and participate actively in their community while supporting regenerative agriculture in a sustainable, residential setting. El Cauce gives hope and inspiration to individuals with IDD.
El Cauce will change lives and influence how society perceives people with intellectual disabilities. Some 150 people will call El Cauce home and live with autonomy as part of a vibrant community, nourishing themselves and the land, participating in daily life, and demonstrating that when rhythms are adjusted on a community level, limitations become less evident, even insignificant. El Cauce inspires and educates, and is establishing a REPLICABLE MODEL that will expand throughout the region.
