We ensure almost 1100 students receive a better quality education through our school programs. Students get much needed classes in English, computer skills and sports as well as learning to read and draw in our student's library. We work within existing Cambodian government schools to meet urgent educational needs. Our program prepares rural Cambodian children for their future and equips them with the skills to make their dreams a reality.
Education in Cambodia is affected by low levels of government investment, a lack of teacher support and school facilities (teachers often need two jobs to make ends meet), and inadequate graduation levels. These problems are compounded in rural areas which lack basic development such as electricity and piped water. Struggling rural families also face pressure to take their children out of school to work on family farms. This project improves the quality and scope of education in rural schools.
Providing an enriched and well rounded education with high levels of English, Sports, Library & Computer will equip students to have a better start in life. Siem Reap thrives on tourism and most jobs will need highly educated and English speaking candidates.
Better jobs means better pay and a better standard of living for the family. It is important to educate the children so that they can be the brighter future for their community.
