Greetings from IDEA!
Since the past 15 years, our educational sponsorship programme has transformed the lives of thousands of underprivileged students by helping them through monetary support (school and college fee) and non-monetary support (stationery, bags, life skill sessions and career counselling). Many of these children have gone on to complete their higher education, some have completed professional courses and many are working with good paying jobs.
For children coming from poor financial background, these career counselling sessions and exposure visits stimulate ambition in them which fuels them to work hard and push their limits. Recently the results of std. 10th and 12th Board exams were announced and we are so proud to tell you that more than 90% of our sponsored children have successfully passed their exams. Today we want to share with you some success stories
SANDHYA eyes a career in Commerce
Sandhya came in to meet us excitedly to show her 10th Board exam result yesterday, her beaming father standing by her side, proud that his daughter overcame poor financial conditions and so many hardships to score 83% in her 10th std. Board exams. Coming from a financially poor background, her father always struggled to educate his children and used to be worried a lot. IDEA's sponsorship programme was a huge relief for the family and Sandhya could concentrate on her studies during the past crucial year.
AARTI turns her life around
Aarti’s story is no less moving, few years back she was on the verge of dropping out of school as her family could not support her education. We can imagine the struggle a family goes through when the daughter has to think of giving up schooling so that her younger brother is able to continue schooling. IDEA sponsorship offered timely help by supporting her with school and then college fees, stationery and uniform. Today all her hard work paid off, this talented girl with dreams of becoming a civil servant has scored 83% in her 12th Board exams.
ABHIMANYU looking ahead with confidence
Abhimanyu has been with us since he was in std. 4th. A shy child at first, our various activities and exposure visits helped him open up. He tells us that Exposure visits to Science parks inspired him to take up Science in college. Career counselling sessions helped him know the different careers and their educational qualification requirements. He also tells us very honestly that the sessions on gender equality helped him understand the gender issue and this led to a huge behavioural change in him which was much appreciated by his mother and sister. With 76% in 10th Board exams, Abhimanyu is excited about starting a career in his beloved field - Science!
