Dear friends,
Greetings!
Over the years, our Educational Sponsorship programme has helped thousands of needy and deserving children to continue their education. Through the Sponsorship programme they have not only received monetary support but they have also immensely benefitted from other activities like career counseling and personality development sessions. What the children enjoy the most though are Exposure visits.
Recently, we arranged an Exposure visit for 30 children studying in std. 10th to a Science Park in Pune, India. This Science Park is not just a tourist attraction but an activity based Science Centre. The Science Centre houses Galleries on different themes of Science & Technology, Activity area, 3D shows, live demos, and an Auditorium. Most of the exhibits in the science centre and science park are interactive in nature and children can explore science in an entertaining way. Many children are scared or intimidated by Science and this is one of the best ways to encourage and enthuse them about Science.
Another Exposure visit was arranged for 40 students studying between std. 11th and graduation. They were taken to an Ancient History museum. Here they got to see various artifacts, coins, and tools belonging to various time periods in History. There was plenty of information available which they could read and discuss. They couldn’t believe that what they thought of as a boring subject, can actually be so interesting. Now when they open their History books, they will have something to visualize.
Coming from underprivileged families, these children don’t get to visit places like museums and theme parks. It is important for them to explore, to see and to interact. This ignites their minds and improves their power of imagination. When they go to the museum and see a model of the Neanderthal man or a 3D model of an airplane, they feel like their textbooks have come to life! And these are the lessons and learnings they will never forget.
We thank you for making these Exposure visits possible and hope you continue to support more children so that they also may avail such wonderful opportunities!
