By Matthew Lee | President, La Reserva Forest Foundation- U.S.
Dear Global Giving Donors,
I wanted to personally inform you we are deactivating the project "Educational Reforestation in War torn Liberia" from the Global Giving site. At this time our organization's capacity and with the current state of affairs in Liberia, we cannot in good conscience try to implement this project even if we had the funds available. Closing out this project is disappointing to our staff and our contact and field organizer Neabei Toah who has a lot of faith and hope in reforesting the campus. La Reserva will continue to remain connected with our partners in Liberia and seek to assist them with their project within our means.
We appreciate your dedication and belief in this kind of work and hope you are amendable to the funds being transferred to another worthy project. Your donations will have an impact in the lives of another community by providing them with a way to reforest the land and generate income by protecting and being stewards of the forest. Currently we are speaking with family landowners of the Maleku tribe to expand on the reforestation work we have successfully completed along the Rio Sol biological corridor. This project is important in our work for creating access corridors for plants and animals, especially to the river. The landowner we are going to work with is excited to participate with La Reserva again and continue the good work we started five years ago with Etnies Shoes.
If you have any questions or concerns about the deactivation please feel free to contact me further. Thank you again for your support in our mission.
Sincerely,
By Neabei Toah | Project manager
