Educational Aid &Life Skills for Children At Risk

Education can change the future of a child, opening doors to opportunities and giving hope for a better life. However, for many vulnerable children in Ukraine and Moldova, access to education is still a daily struggle.

For more than 50 years, we have worked alongside families facing poverty and difficult circumstances. Sadly, we continue to meet children who cannot attend school regularly because their families cannot afford essential items such as clothes, shoes, school supplies, or adequate food. Some children struggle academically because their parents are unable to help with homework, either because they work long hours to support the family or because they themselves have never had the opportunity to learn to read and write.

Thanks to your generous support, we are able to help these children overcome barriers that might otherwise prevent them from reaching their potential.

Through our after-school clubs, children receive homework support, educational activities, and encouragement from caring staff and volunteers. These programmes help improve learning, build confidence, and create a safe environment where children can develop socially and emotionally.

Our social workers regularly visit families to assess their needs and provide practical assistance. Many families receive support with clothing, shoes, food, stationery, and other essentials that enable children to attend school with dignity and participate fully in their education.

In addition, our staff help families access available social support and government benefits. Many vulnerable parents are simply unaware of the assistance for which they may qualify or need help navigating the application process.

Where possible, we also encourage and support parents to participate in training and learning programmes that can help them gain new skills, increase employment opportunities, and improve their family's long-term situation.

Because of your kindness, children who were at risk of falling behind are receiving the support they need to continue their education. Families are gaining practical assistance, guidance, and hope for the future.
