Sekolah Dasar Swasta Garsel in South Garut, West Java, is currently in a critical condition. Parts of the aging school building have collapsed, while the remaining classrooms suffer from severe damage. Despite these challenges, around 120 students and 10 teachers continue teaching and learning amid limited facilities and difficult economic conditions. This campaign aims to renovate all classrooms, provide proper learning facilities, and create a safe educational environment for children
Around 120 children from low-income families rely on this school for their education. However, the school is now in a deeply concerning condition. The aging school building has gradually fallen into severe disrepair. Some classrooms have already collapsed, while the roofs and walls are becoming increasingly fragile. Many learning facilities are no longer safe or suitable for use. School desks are damaged, and educational materials remain extremely limited.
This project will rebuild the unsafe and damaged classrooms of Sekolah Dasar Swasta Garsel, providing a safe place for around 120 children from low-income families to learn. It will restore broken structures, equip classrooms with basic learning facilities, and ensure children can study in a secure and dignified environment. Most importantly, it turns a fragile, unsafe school into a place where children can focus on learning instead of worrying about their safety.
In the long term, rebuilding Sekolah Dasar Swasta Garsel creates more than safe classrooms-it helps secure the future of around 120 children from low-income families. A stable learning environment improves attendance, reduces dropout rates, and strengthens learning outcomes. Over time, this leads to better education levels, stronger opportunities for higher education or employment, and a ripple effect that uplifts families and the wider rural community through education-driven progress.
