Education to Students and Children Under Six Years

Dear Esteemed Donors and Supporters,

I hope you are all doing well in the midst of the Covid 19 challenges.

I wish to let you know that the effects of Covid 19 on the education sector has become so apparent than was estimated. At the moemnt a number of school girls have been lost to early pregnancy as a result of the long stay at home duri ng the lockdown imposed due to covid 19. Since many of the girls are actually below chiuld bearing age,the effects of pregnancy on their health is equally deplorable.

Given that the back to school calender has been spaced to allow for SOPs to be adhered to,a number of parents are finding difficulty to even follw the calendar makimng many schools to have extreemly poor attendance. The other effect of covid is that many parents have lost livelihood as a result of lost of bussiness,jobs and market for their products and more parents thatn ever are finding difficulty in providing scholastic materials for their children leave alone contribute to food tatios for the children.

Kole being in a region with majority of people leving bellow a dollar a day even before the pandemic faces a major challenge coping with the New Normal and this will means it will take quite long for education sector to ebgin to perform well and in my view unless couragious steps are taken by donors,supportters and government,there will a lost generation as a result of several children not being able to attend school. In my opinon,this is a wake up call for International donors in the ducation sector to begin to take bold steps in financing organisations in the education sector without putting so much strings on funding siunce solutions to these challenges requires multi-pronged approaches that would require untied financing to education sector so that children can be supported to cope with the impact of this pandemic.

Please our suppoerter i wish to implore you to consider directing your support towards avcellerating children come back to school and stay in school. The need at the orga nisation is so great and we seek you support to enable us cope at this critical stage in the education of our children.
