Educate & Rehabilitate Children With Disabilities
By Banraplang Pyngrope | Programme Coordinator
Dear Supporters,
Greetings from Bethany Society, Shillong, Meghalaya, India!
The Resource Mobilization Team would firstly like to thank all our Supporters who have journeyed with us in supporting our Project to Educate/Rehabilitate 130 children in Northeast India.
Bethany Society aims to provide safe accommodation and opportunity for quality inclusive education to 110 children and young persons with disabilities belonging to marginalized and remote areas of Meghalaya, India where they are deprived of access to education or skill-training. These children come from extremely poor & deprived backgrounds. The goal thus is creating equal access to opportunities for education and employment for these 110 young people with disabilities living in Bethany Society.
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have arrange for a system to have classes in for the students especially for those who will be appearing for their SSLC examination. Some of the children residing in the hostel have return and have alternate days classes keeping in mind the protocol of social distancing and hand washing to free them form the virus. There are certain classes that still have to to be continued through online classes and through various application and softwares introduced to us.eventhough all parents do not have access to good network connectivity since they are from remote places. However, the school authorities along with the cooperation and dedication of the Teachers, are trying to ensure that all students get access to the online classes either through online or telephonic communication.
Presently, the School is focusing on sourcing funds to support the Teacher's salary as well as to meet other expenses of the School. In such a crisis, we urge our supporters to donate for this project so that the school may carry out their activities, and children may still benefit and excel in education.
A detailed report is attached for your kind reference.
Thanking you in advance.
Stay safe, Stay Healthy.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, our School has been close down.
