We are all fine

Hi to all of you

We are all well, and I mean truly all of us. The boy who was suffering from seizures is very fine again. We went for a lot of exams from encephalogram to cat scan and all results came out absolutely normal. Stated this we involved a psychologist and social assistant, thanks to their patient and delicate work and the help of the mother some problems in the home of the boy came up. Today the kid is happy again, smiling and joyful. His seizures now are nightmare of the past. We all feel so relieved ad happy, he is again the wonderful kid he has always been. A huge thank you to all of you for your help and assistance.

Now you also can participate at a new program, we started with the sponsorship of our kids. Some of the kids already found a sponsor from overseas; they call them mommy/ daddy from far. Some of them even have a lot as they are sponsored by a group of friends. Actually this kind of distance sponsorship is not so distant, you are not so far away. Thanks to whatsapp communication is very easy and frequent and the kids love sending voice messages and photos to their sponsors. This way sponsors can participate at the daily life of the kid and share good and bad moments, like a good mark at school or a fall from the bike. The kids are always very proud of having a sponsor and care for them too, sending for example special whishes if their sponsor is seek or expecting a baby. Should you be interested in taking over a sponsorship, please feel free to contact me. I will then send you all the documentation and you can start communicating with the kid to know each other better and maybe one day you can come and visit too.

We are now preparing for our anniversary. This year we become 4 years old. The celebration will take place on Saturday the 7th November. Our little ones are already practicing songs and the bigger ones are putting together their program. I can’t give you any further details as everything has to be a surprise!

For the outing of the year we are going back to Etosha, our national park. Most of the kids have never been there and this year we spoke so much about wild animals, mostly the rhinos, and nature conservation that they now have to live and experience it. Ongava nature reserve offers us the stay at their place so we are very grateful to them, it twill be such a wonderful experience for our kids.

The other good news regards Okeri, one of the ladies of your sewing class. One day I found her in tears and truly desperate. She had received a letter from the municipality, which informed her to leave her house within a few days as she was in arrears with her municipality fees. It was a shock for me too. This lady is sitting in a wheel chair, her handicap is truly huge, she can’t even move without assistance, how is it possible that somebody like her can get evicted from her property? It truly seamed to me a bureaucratic cruelty. Fortunately we could involve the press and a special about her situation was in our local news the same day. During that evening already her situation was magically solved, she was even invited to meet the mayor. Municipality helped her and she can stay now in her house and even received some other improvements to her life.

Here in Namibia it is springtime now and NedBank, a local bank, invited us to their Spring festival. This event actually was for everybody, but for our kids it was a very special moment. They had so much fun on the rodeo bull and then there was also a climbing wall, kind of free climbing!!! Funny, for most of them it was easier the way up than coming down. We had so much fun. There was a stand of fresh fruits too, as it was actually a sports event and the fruits were for free. Bananas, oranges, Kiwi, they could eat as much as they wanted. It was such a joy for them, at the end they also packed some of the fruits to take home to share with their siblings. They were all talking about that, just that in the bus on our way home. Thank you so much dear Nedbank.

We also want to say thank you to Virgin Active, we received from them very colorful mats. Did kids don’t use them just for acrobatic activities! Absolutely not. Up to their imagination they become a swimming pool, and they swim in them or they become horses to ride, the imagination and the use of the mattresses is limitless.

Now a say good bye to you, I want to go to our kids, every day is unique, yesterday Uzu hurt her big toe and Barak had a thorn in his foot, Mekupi forgot to do her Afrikaans homework and got a stamp in her book, Lukas and Dennis instead are discovering math’s, both have their books marked with a lot of excellent!!! I need to go and find out what happens today.

A very special thank you to all of you. There are more and more people getting involved and it is so great, any help you give to us is highly appreciated and we are so happy to have you as part of our Mammadu family.

A kiss to all of you from the kids
