Happy Mothers Day

Kevin at optometrist

Hi to all

Kevin now is wearing glasses. He really struggled doing his homework and even to see at the blackboard. He was so worried when we went to the optometrist, he thought it would be painful, then he found out that actually he only had to look through funny machines and the doctor didn’t even touch him so everything was fine. Now he is proud owner of a new pair of glasses, which he wears nearly always. And he really looks very good. So cool!

Last week the school holidays started and we also got the reports. I’m so happy and so proud, they went much better then even I thought. A huge “Thank you” goes to all our volunteers who spend hours practising and doing homework with the kids. Now we are planning our holiday activities, swimming pool during the hottest hours, visit to the botanical garden and we went to see a movie at the newly reopened only cinema of Windhoek. So much fun!

There have been changes in our staff too. Now Meme Dina is the new chef and on her menu is pizza, and she does it so well!! Must say her pizza is definitely the best in all Windhoek and the kids love it. The old cook left after  some unpleasant events. We have now a new cleaning lady too and thanks to her Mammadu is always shining and clean and Junias, our teacher, proofed him self with the school results of the kids. So now the whole Mammadu family is happy.

Our latest project to empower our moms and other women of the community is proceeding extremely well, their products are getting better and better and there is no limit to creativity and invention, the handbags are a true hit. Okeri a wonderful lady in wheelchair is our stylist, her production includes handbags, aprons and more made out of left over materials. Unbelievable how many beautiful things she can do out of different materials. All our products are unique and 100% made out of recycled materials, all income goes to the Mom’s and a part to Mammadu. If you are interested in some of the products as gifts, maybe even for Christmas please feel free to contact me.

The last thought goes to all the moms: Happy Mothers Day to all of you. Moms are the inspiration of Mammadu so it is a very special day. May your kids make you happy like our Mammadu Kids make us all feel great.
